April 29, 2025ROCHESTER, NY – Greece Ridge is proud to host Thoughts in My Head, a student-curated art show in partnership with Greece Central School District. The exhibit opens with a ceremony on Thursday, May 1 at 5:30 PM in Center Court, located near the food court.

Greece Central School District launched the Student Curator Program this year to highlight the leadership, creativity, and talents of student artists. The program gives students the opportunity to curate an art show from start to finish – selecting artwork, preparing gallery space, promoting the event, and managing the full exhibition experience.

“The show is a visual exploration of the inner dialogue that shapes our perception of the world,” wrote Emily McMichael and Kylie Skibickyj, students of the curator program. “From personal memories to abstract ideas, the work on display highlights the creativity and individuality of each artist’s perspective on the world. Different perspectives help create a wide variety of art that will be on display”.

To support the student initiative, Greece Ridge has donated an inline space across from Ulta Beauty, next to Fun House, for the students to transform into a gallery. The collaboration brings experiential learning into a public space and provides students with a platform to showcase their work to the local community.

“We’re proud to support local students and happy to give back to the community we serve,” Greece Ridge General Manager Jay Wilmot said. “This project is a great example of how education, creativity, and community can come together in a meaningful way”.

Media are invited to attend the opening ceremony on Thursday, May 1 at 5:30 PM in Center Court. The student-curated gallery Thoughts in My Head will open to the public following the ceremony and remain on display through Friday, May 9. A full schedule of gallery hours can be found at themallatgreeceridge.com/events.

Additionally, faculty-selected artwork from students in grades K-12 will be on display near Entrance 7 through Sunday, May 11.
