Reading, PA. November 5, 2025: With the opening of its 51st store at The Mall at Greece Ridge in Rochester, NY Boscov’s achieved a record-breaking three-day Grand Opening Celebration. “We are grateful to the Rochester community for their incredible warm welcome and are thrilled to say it was the best opening ever,” said Jim Boscov, Chairman and CEO of Boscov’s.
The Grand Opening Celebration included a successful Charity Day – Shop for a Cause event, which raised over $100,000 for non-profit organizations critical to Rochester, demonstrating Boscov’s commitment to community engagement.
On Friday, Boscov’s hosted Family Day – Something for Everyone, where families joined Peanuts and Gang on a store-wide Hunt for the Great Pumpkin while also enjoying free balloon artistry, face painting and professional live piano music.
On Saturday, the talented Greece Blue Knights Marching Band kicked off the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony where Snoopy and Jaime Saunders, President of the United Way of Rochester and the Finger Lakes, along with 38 partner agencies, cut a unique ribbon made of $100 bills for member organizations and a special $1,000 bill for the United Way, symbolizing Boscov’s commitment to local charities. Customers enjoyed free live performances by the University of Rochester’s award-winning YellowJackets, Nik Lite from Nik & The Nice Guys as well as a free photo opportunity with the authentic Snoopy, courtesy of Peanuts Worldwide. To cap off the celebration, Boscov’s put on a spectacular Grand Opening Fireworks display synchronized to music.
